A Long Week

May 11, 2015 By David Whitham

Last week was parent observation week at the dance studio, and the means one thing – a long week. Leaving the house at 7:30 every morning, and not getting home until around 9:30 at night all week takes its toll. I didn’t feel it at the time, because I was enjoying myself so much, but when I ended up taking a 3-hour nap Saturday afternoon, I realized just how much it took out of me.

The florescent lights in the studio pose another challenge: they’re awful. Flickering, cycling, almost impossible to get a proper color rendition, the best course of action is to just convert everything to black and white in post so you won’t notice the yellow band going through the middle of the frame. All in all, I think I did ok, and got some frames that my daughter likes. Isn’t that all that matters?
