Christmas Light Bokeh

December 30, 2013 By David Whitham

Bokeh – the visual quality of the out-of-focus areas of a photographic image, esp. as rendered by a particular lens.

It’s been a while since I shot something that wasn’t sports related (not that I’m complaining), so I recently took a few shots downtown on my town’s green which was beautifully lit up by Christmas lights. I didn’t want to do the usual wide-angle shots that take in the entire green, and wanted something a little different.

The is one of the posts in the gazebo in the middle of the green, with one of the large evergreens directly behind it.
