They came out in droves, filling nearly every inch of Alumni Hall to watch two schools separated by a mile battle for a place in the Class LL boys basketball semifinals. But, what the standing-room-only crowd saw Friday evening was a game that was over soon after it started.
It was Fairfield Prep’s night.
The top-ranked Jesuits owned the latest installment of their town rivalry, crushing eighth-seeded Ludlowe 70-48 before 2,500 fans in a LL quarterfinal that was a one-sided affair.
