And sometimes, you can’t hit water if you fell out of a boat. Ebby Calvin “Nuke” LaLoosh, played by Tim Robbins, tells this to a reporter in the classic baseball movie Bull Durham. These were words of wisdom taught to Nuke by Crash Davis, played by Kevin Costner. These words came to mind after I finished shooting Stratford vs. Bunnell high School in Boys basketball. I definitely felt as though I couldn’t hit water if I fell out of a boat as it seemed like every great play happened on the other end of the court…
